Kinda cute

For those who haven't seen this forward:

Dear Santa,

I've been a good Mom all year. I've fed, cleaned, and cuddled my two children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground and figured out how to attach nine patches onto my daughter's girl scout sash with staples and a glue gun.

I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:
I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache after a day of chasing kids (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to carry a screaming toddler out of the candy aisle in the grocery store. I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy. If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like a car with fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking daughter doll that says, "Yes, Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with one potty-trained toddler, two kids who don't fight, and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools. I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting, "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog. And please don't forget the Playdoh Travel Pack, the hottest stocking stuffer this year for mothers of preschoolers. It comes in three fluorescent colors and is guaranteed to crumble on any carpet making the in-laws' house seem just like mine. If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container. If you don't mind I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season.

Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family; or if my toddler didn't look so cute sneaking downstairs to eat contraband ice cream in his pajamas at midnight.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the chimney and come in and dry off by the fire so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies on the table, but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.

Yours always... Mom

P.S. One more thing... you can cancel all my requests if you can just keep my children young enough to believe in you.

Tooth Trauma

Ok so this isn't the first time Kalista has lost a tooth, but this is our funniest story so far.
Kalista's tooth was barely hanging on and she had it bent all the way out. (first picture), it was sort or icky. We told Keaton to look at it and he wasn't quite sure what was going on so he thought he had to touch it. As soon as he touched it the tooth fell out. He was not sure what had happened, and Kalista was crying, so he started crying. They both got a good laugh out of it after they were done being traumatized.

Great Job!!

Keaton has been working really hard at trying to write his name, and being able to cut along the lines. We were practicing the other morning and he was working so hard. He cut out 2 circles really well, and we even got a couple K's on the paper! Way to go Keaton.

BRRRRRRRR!!!

Well this is the first year that Kambrie has actually got to see what the snow is all about.
She was really impressed untill she realized that it was cold. Keaton is always so good to take care of her and when her heard her outside crying he came rite to her rescue.

Loves to color

Kambrie has decided that coloring can be a whole lot of fun. When she first started she was doing really well and just colored on the paper. Then one day she accidently colored on her hand and it has been all down hill since. All I have to say is thank you so much crayola for at least making them very washable.

Happy Birthday Kalista

I can not beleive she is already 7!!!!!

Kalista had a birthday November 2nd. She was so excited to be turning 7. She got polly pockets, and High School Musical, she has a really neat doll house and she got a family room for it, an outfit, and a pink, fuzzy pair of snow boots. We make reeses peices pancakes, and eggs and then had to get ready for church. We will be having everyone over after church for a little family get together. We try to just do one family partysince they are only a week apart. The kids don't seem to mind it.

Happy Halloween.

Here are a couple pictures of the kids in their costumes. I Still have not got batteries for my camera. (note the blurry photos) Kalista has been waiting for the day she could wear her vampire outfit. We got up a little early to make her hair and her makeup just rite, and luckly we were successful. Keaton decided Halloween morning that he was just going to go as himself that day, tha was untill he found out they don't give out candy to kids that are not dressed up. I think He was glad he did. He was doning his Ninja moves ALL day!!! I was very surprised that Kambrie left her outfit on all day. She would take her hat off every time we got in the car, but made sure I put it back on befor we got out at the next stop. She was even saying treat please and thank you to everyone. The kids made out a little too well on the candy end. Their is a dentist in town that is going to pay the kids a dollar per pound of candy, and then send it to Irak, so I have decided to take full advantage. Mainly so I don't eat it all.

Happy Birthday Keaton!!

Keaton Turned 5 October 23rd. I cannot belive it. Man the time just flies by. He got to open his presents from mom and dad, and the girls befor school, wich of coarse was the highlight of the day!!! I ran out of batteries in the camera so I had to use my cell( at least I got a couple pictures), the pictures arn't the best Quality but at least he will know that he turne 5 once upon a time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBA!!!!

Much better!!!

The painting was a little harder than I thought, I got the whole kitchen done.( It was supposed to be a little darker than the living room.) Then I moved on to the living and dining room and everything was going great. I loved the colors together, I went to bed feeling very proud of my accomplishments. When I got home from my morning running around to get things ready for my mom to help me with the second coat, I looked at the walls and they were all the same color. The paint had darkened that much that they ended up matching. I had to go back to Wal Mart and have them lighten the paint. We finally go it all done. We love the colors, and it makes the house feel so much warmer. The colors are actually quite a bit darker than the pictures show. My next project is re finishing our kitchen hutch in black to match our kitchen table. I have been watching too many shows on HGTV, but they have some really great ideas!!!

Thanks mom!!!!

Too much white

I have dicided that our house was way too plain, It needed some color and character. I almost forgot to take the befor pictures. We arn't aloud to do to much but I figured a coat of paint might help a bit.

Growing up way to fast!!!

Kalista has been begging to use the curling iron all by herself and today I finally gave in. She had a friendsbirthday party to go to and wanted to look just perfect. She did really well and only burned herself once. (I forgot to get a picture of the finished product.)

In like a lion.

I know the saying is in like a lion out like a lamb, but there was nothing soft and quiet about Kambrie when you put this hat on her. I bought it because she wasn't able to take it off on thoes really cold days and man does that make her mad. I don't think it will take her to long to figure it out.

Video Maniacs

Keaton finally got to invite a friend over after school to play video games. I realized that Keaton has never really had friends over. I just sat there and laughed at the two of them the whole time it was sooo funny. The boys seem to be just as giggly as the girls.( I don't think that they fight as much as girls do.)

Our library trip

Today the library was having the firefighters to visit with the kids. The kids were really excited. They are always excited to see the fire trucks with their lights on. This was a real treat. Kambrie wanted nothing to do with them. I think the best part of the whole thing for them was when they left and turned on all of the lights and sirens.

Keaton so excited to be in the fire truck.

Kalista couldn't of picked a better day to miss school.

Kalista volunteered to help the firefighters demonstrate
how to get ready for a fire.

I really hope that this doesn't give her any ideas of
what she thinks she wants to be when she grows up. I
don't think my heart could ever handle that. She does look
pretty cute though.

Fall is here! Time for pictures.

I took the kids out this morning because I needed new pictures to hang up. Since we moved I don't have any pictures of my kids up. Keaton did really well, and wasn't even doing his funny poses,(the rain may have helped that). Kambrie on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the camera, but when it wasnt pointing at her she would smile away. She is a little turkey.

A new pacifire

I took Kambrie's pacifire away a couple of weeks ago. It actually went pretty well, the first night she cried for only a little bit. Then she has decided she is really into baby dolls, and now she sleeps with her baby on her head almost every night.
